The Hartstichting (the Dutch Heart foundation) and Philips have launched the platform BuurtAED (neighborhood AED). This platform allows residents to launch a fundraiser for an AED in their neighborhood.
Every week, approximately 300 people in the Netherlands are affected by sudden cardiac arrest outside the hospital. Resuscitation and using an automated external defibrillator (AED) within 6 minutes can increase their chance of survival considerably. Every minute counts and to make our neighborhoods a safer place, the placement of an AED is of vital importance.
